Current hackney taxi tariff

  • Tariff 1: £4.00 for the first 1320 yards (3/4 mile) or part; 60p for each additional 440 yards (1/4 mile); waiting 45p per minute or part
  • Tariff 2: 25% surcharge between 21:00 and 07:00 Monday to Thursday, between 21:00 Friday and 07:00 Monday, and on council-determined public holidays
  • Tariff 3: 50% surcharge on 25/26 December and 1/2 January
  • Tariff detail 4: Five or more passengers start on Tariff 2; for five or more passengers during the specified midnight/weekend/public and festive periods, Tariff 3 applies
  • Tariff detail 5: Supplementary booking charge up to £6.50 where hire starts at least three miles from the taxi/base and travels farther away, only when disclosed at booking; cleaning charge £50
