Privacy policy

Last updated: 11 September 2026

TECSI is a taxi and private hire marketplace and knowledge hub. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we use it and the choices available to you.

Information we collect

How we use information

We use personal information to create and secure accounts, publish and manage adverts, deliver enquiries, provide support, prevent fraud or misuse, improve TECSI and comply with legal obligations. Our lawful bases may include performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent and compliance with law.

Sharing and public information

Information included in a published advert is visible publicly. We may use trusted hosting, email, analytics and technical providers where necessary to operate TECSI. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect users and the service.

Optional Google Analytics

Only if you choose Allow analytics, TECSI uses Google Analytics to measure visits to public pages. Google processes pseudonymous cookie identifiers, device and browser information, and pages viewed. We do not send form contents, contact details or private dashboard pages. Google advertising features and enhanced measurement are disabled.

Google Analytics uses _ga and _ga_* cookies, normally lasting up to two years. TECSI stores your analytics choices for one year in tecsi_analytics_consent and tecsi_google_analytics_consent; the optional tecsi_visitor_id cookie lasts one year. Previous consent to TECSI-only analytics does not enable Google Analytics.

Use Analytics settings in the footer to allow or refuse analytics at any time. Refusing does not prevent use of the site. Withdrawal disables future collection and removes analytics cookies, but does not erase information already collected. Browser Do Not Track requests are respected. Google may process information outside the UK; see Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from partner sites. Contact admin@tecsi.co.uk with privacy requests.

Retention and security

We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, account administration, dispute handling and legal obligations. We use proportionate technical and organisational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of your information, and to request a portable copy. You may also withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis.

Contact admin@tecsi.co.uk to exercise your rights. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
