Current hackney taxi tariff

  • Distance fare: £3.96 for the first 1 mile (1,760yd); then 33p for every additional 1/10 mile (176yd) or part
  • Tariff detail 2: Waiting £22.00 per hour, beginning five minutes after the customer is informed that the taxi has arrived
  • Single applicable surcharge: £1.10 for hires 19:00-midnight except Sundays and specified festive dates; £1.87 for hires midnight-07:00 except specified festive dates; £1.65 for hires 07:00-midnight on Sundays and bank holidays
  • Festive: 50% of the basic fare, minimum fare £7.10, for hires 19:00 on 24 December to 07:00 on 27 December and 19:00 on 31 December to 07:00 on 3 January
  • More than four passengers: 50% surcharge; pre-booked hire: 55p; passenger fouling charge £200
