Current hackney taxi tariff

• Tariff 1 — 06:00–23:00: £3.50 minimum covering 572 yards or 2 minutes 30 seconds, or a combination of parts; then 20p per additional 174 yards; waiting 20p per completed 39 seconds.
• Tariff 2 — 23:00–06:00: £5.65 minimum covering the same initial distance/time allowance; then 20p per additional 174 yards; waiting 20p per completed 39 seconds.
• Tariff 3 — festive hours: 18:00–midnight on 24 and 31 December, and 06:00–midnight on 25–26 December and 1–2 January: £5.65 minimum with the same initial allowance, then 35p per additional 174 yards; waiting 35p per completed 39 seconds.
• Tariff 4 — festive overnight: Midnight–06:00 on 25–26 December and 1–2 January: £9.15 minimum with the same initial allowance, then 35p per additional 174 yards; waiting 35p per completed 39 seconds.
• Extras: Pre-booked but unused taxi £2.25; luggage up to 56lb free, over 56lb 20p; Glasgow Airport drop-off/pick-up zone £6 or the other minimum charge set by the zone operator; soiling £51.50.
• Conditions: Waiting starts on arrival at the engagement point. Engagement outside East Dunbartonshire and fares by time require special agreement. The 22 May 2025 minutes adopted Appendix 3, rather than the earlier consultation table; the council confirms commencement on 1 August 2025.
