Combined applicants must be over 21, have held a full UK licence for 12 months and have right to work. Submit pre-application first; eligibility review can take 21 days and its reference lasts six months. Supply Group 2 medical, enhanced DBS and overseas good-conduct evidence where applicable.

Vehicle licensing
Official route/source found

Current new-vehicle guidance requires first-licensed vehicles to be under five years old from first registration and advises suitability confirmation before purchase. Submit hire insurance, MOT and nominated-station mechanical taxi test each dated within 30 days, plus V5C or a bill of sale showing first registration; a full V5C must follow within one month of grant if initially absent. A fitted hoist, winch or ramp requires a LOLER certificate. Applicants without a South Norfolk combined driver licence need basic disclosure. Hackneys additionally need an approved meter certificate, calendar-controlled sealed tariff meter, displayed fare table and Taxi roof light front and rear. Council inspection precedes grant. The page quotes £275 for twelve months and up to fifteen clear working days after successful application/inspection. These are the current published application requirements, not every specialist or renewal condition.

Operator licensing
Official route/source found

Five-year operator licences require a district operating base where bookings are taken and records available, planning checks, £5 million public liability insurance and right-to-work evidence. Basic disclosure within one month is required except the stated local-driver/applicant exemption; companies supply directors' and secretary's disclosures. Overseas residence since18 of three months or lack of five-year UK residence needs good-conduct evidence. Renewal, recently expired and equivalent existing licences require a tax-check code.

Taxi tariff
Official route/source found

South Norfolk's fare cap began on 1 April 2023; the current adopted-table page directly links the recovered schedule. T1 Monday–Saturday 06:00–23:00: £5 includes one mile or 600 seconds, followed by 25p per 176 yards or minute. T2 nightly 23:00–06:00: £6.50 includes one mile or 600 seconds, followed by 30p per 176 yards or minute. T3 Sunday 06:00–23:00 and public holidays: £5.50 includes one mile or 660 seconds, followed by 25p per 160 yards or minute. The table explicitly permits incomplete distance/time parts and combinations; these are shared meter allowances, not separately additive journey-time charges. Full extras and public-holiday/night overlap require further verification.
