Applicants require a Basic criminal-record check at application and annually. Maintain a booking/dispatch staff register, obtain annual Basic DBS checks for each person, record certificate numbers and the licence holder's viewing date/time, and apply at least the council's ex-offender standards. Outsourced staff must meet equivalent vetting. Keep accessible booking records at the licensed premises, including passenger/hirer, request time, pickup, destination, driver name/licence, vehicle registration and booking/dispatch staff identities. PSV substitution requires the hirer's recorded informed consent.

Council-hosted survey reproduces a card effective 5 August 2022: four bands start £4/£5/£7.50/£9.50 for 1,000 yards and then charge 30p/40p/50p/70p per started 190 yards. Band 1 applies Monday–Saturday 06:30–22:00; band 2 covers nights, Sundays and bank holidays; band 3 named Christmas/Boxing/New Year dates and eves after 18:00. Carrying five or more passengers moves the applicable band up one. Waiting is £25/hour in band 1 and £30/hour otherwise.
