According to the Department for Transport, two consultations opened on 21 October on improving access to electric vehicle charging in England. One considers easier arrangements for tenants and leaseholders; the other covers charging in covered car parks through building regulations. Responses are invited by 16 December 2026. The proposals remain under consultation, so they should not be read as new rights already available to every renter.
