England councils receive further road repair funding

According to the Department for Transport, a further £220 million has been released to councils in England for road maintenance after performance targets were met. Its 21 October announcement also reports nearly 7,000 miles of resurfacing expected this year. The figures describe government funding and reported works, rather than a guarantee that any particular local road has already been repaired.
